
David Quammen is an author, editor, and essayist known for explaining scientific topics in a truly accessible way. He is passionate about the environment, outdoors, wildlife, and adventure. Quammen has written for National Geographic, has received honorary doctorates from Montana State University and Colorado College, and has received the Science and Society Book Award. He was an early arrival to the potential for pandemics with diseases that leap from animals under environmental pressure with his book Spillover (2012), which has only become more relevant.
